How much jail time does a person get for a hit and run?

A "friend" of mine was driving my car, he ended up crashing into a telephone pole and totaling it. He fled the scene leaving me there and when the police showed up it turned out he had a suspended license and had 3 warrants for his arrest. How much time could he be looking at??
