Any advice? We are almost best friends, he likes me but he has a girlfriend.?

Well, my name is not telling right now. His name is Nick. We are the closest of friends but one thing separates us from that. We both have a crush on each other. I like him more and longer and I am more up front about it but we both are falling for each other. We vent to each other a lot. I fix all his problems and he compliments me on that a lot :). I vent to him about my issues and him. I'm not to shy so I am able to talk about him about him. Also, I am nothing within miles of a drama girl. I am apathetic. (shows little or no emotion) Okay, so we are really close. On valentines day, my friend told him I like him since I couldn't get myself to do it but he had a girlfriend. The next day at first break, he asked me to the valentines dance that friday. I said, "Sure." On thursday, at our school me and my friends have random hug day every week and he sometimes does that with his friends well, after school i was on my way home when he tapped me on my shoulder and asked for a hug. I hugged him. x) That Friday we slow danced at the dance to Perfect by Hedley and this all happened while he had a girlfriend. You are probly thinking hes cheating on her but he was just being sweet and that made me so happy. She acused him of cheating and dumped him tho but i cheered him up. Now it has been two weeks and he has a new girlfriend but she asked him out and he has a hard time saying no and they ended up a okay couple. He doesnt get to see her a lot but they still are good. Now, i have gone from being another kid in his class to one of his few close friends all starting valentines day. We text, talk on msn, talk at break, in class and we might hang out outside of school soon but we have a project right now so yeah. We are super close like closer than him and his girlfriend but she is the problem. I am 100% sure if he was single right now he would ask me out. He has told me so many personal things that he doesnt tll like anyone and ive told him my life story almost. We may seem like really close friends on msn or texting but when we see each other at school we can't mutter a simple hello we get so shy. I am right now just sitting and being calm and waiting for him and his girlfriend to break up but idk if there is something else i should be doing.
