Can a 16 year old with an incompetent mother and a father who fled the country be emancipated?

I turned 16 in March of 2011. In February of 2009, my father received custody of my sister and I because my mother was engulfed in drugs and alcohol. Eight months later in October, my father fled the country because he was in SERIOUS trouble with the law. Again, I am 16 years old and currently live with my aunt and uncle. I would like to know if it's possible to be emancipated, and what would I have to go through to make this happen. Any response would be helpful.
