What does it mean when I have dreams of being the opposite sex?

In my dream I was a male (I'm a female) and apparently I was at the beach with my family when I suddenly felt really depressed and went to take a walk around the beach. I came across a playground and saw a teenage girl (I used to have problems with when I was in sixth grade). I saw her, and I felt this love for her like a boy would with a girl. She had this really sad expression on her face, and what was weird was that I could read her thoughts. In her mind she kept on repeating, "my dad isn't here again!" I just stared at her sadly and left to see my grandma, and I told her about the girl. In my dream it seemed that I had dated her in the past and she had hurt me so my grandma said, "are you going to let her do this to you again!" I just turned around and said, "Yes because I love her." I then continued walking and saw signs in the ocean water that there was going to be a tsunami. I quickly ran towards the direction of the playground and saw her there sitting in a swing with her sad expression. I called out her name and she turned around and looked at me crying. All of a sudden I felt this love for her and went and gave her a huge hug and carried her bridal style away from the beach into the city. In my dream she is a theater performer so her manager came running towards us screaming that she needed to go back to rehearsals. I just looked at him angrily and said, "I'm taking her with me! There is going to be a tsunami!" He just laughed and then he took her and fled towards the theater. I followed him and grabbed her and sat down with the manager and put the girl on my lap. "I want to take her with me" I said to him. He then said, "Can I have some gum?" I then took out a pack of gun from my pocket and gave it to him. He then counted how much gum I had and said, "You have 12 pieces of gum so that means you have 12 days that I will not bother you, but when those 12 days are over I will come and look for both of you and take her away." I just looked at him hesitantly and agreed. I then carried her bridal style in my arms and left. By then the tsunami struck. I woke up really scared because of the huge wave that was coming towards us in the dream. I really don't know what this means, but I'm mostly confused that I was male, and I loved this girl so much when in real life we had problems. This is all too weird, any idea what this means?
