Quick Legal Question. If someone is considered an accomplice/assessory to a crime?

Can they be charged as an accomplice/assessory if the actual assailant's charges are dropped. If you need a little more info the person didnt know the person was going to commit a crime, and they turned themselves in to poilce at the scene. The other person fled and was arrested a few months later.
